The District:  

The Missouri River District is located in the Eastern edge of Nebraska and serves the eastern area of Nebraska along the Missouri River from Blair, Nebraska, south to the Nebraska/Kansas border.

The district comprises 56 churches both in urban and rural areas. Rural areas are primarily agricultural based economy while Omaha and surrounding suburbs include diverse large corporations. Most famous among them is perhaps Mutual of Omaha.

What you may not know about your district:

Omaha is known for being the birth place of Malcom X, home to Warren Buffet, and the creator of the original Reuben sandwich. According to Omaha lore, the Reuben Sandwich was dreamed up at Omaha’s Blackstone Hotel in 1925 by Reuben Kulakofsky. Also, world renowned Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is part of those must see places in Omaha. In August 2014, TripAdvisor proclaimed Henry Doorly Zoo the “world’s best zoo”, leading San Diego Zoo and Loro Parque, based on an algorithmic assimilation of millions of reviews for 275 major zoos worldwide

The district is also home to the Nebraska Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital and Nebraska Methodist College, and it is known for hosting the annual college world series, and numerous Olympic trials and collegiate national championships.
